Electrical steels are iron-based alloys containing silicon as the major alloying addition. These steels are used generally in applications such as power transformers where electrical conductivity and magnetic properties are important. Electrical steel is carefully processed to develop optimum magnetic properties. Unlike stainless steels, grain-oriented steel products are tested and sold on the basis of their magnetic and electrical properties. Schnog Enterprises is able to purchase prime and secondary electrical steel from both domestic and international producers and sells them exclusively on an export basis.
Electrical (silicon) steel products:
Prime, new production products
- Grain-oriented and non grain-oriented silicon steel sheets and strip in coils
Secondary products:
- Grain-oriented and non grain-oriented silicon steel coils, interleaved coils, wide sheet coils, and strip coils
- Used grain-oriented transformer core laminations
